the rain

The rain, the rain
Rain came down in sheets that night
And you and I stared out to the left and to the right
Rain came down and cursed, seemed to laugh at us
Still daylight

The clouds, the clouds
Clouds raced all across the autumn sky
And you and I fumbled for a way to say goodbye
Strangers weren't we
Scared to look into each other's eyes?

Strangers weren't we
Scared to look into each other's eyes?

stumble to escape, through anchored drapes, made of bedding

  Cameron Wittig

I'M GOING TO EUROPE IN 7 MONTHS!!!

I am seriously so excited. This is an accomplishment as I've never left the Pacific before. So I'm sure you'll here more about this trip later on :D
On the note of things I'm excited about, Andrew Bird. Here's the lyrics to a song of his that I love. You should definitely have listen when you get the chance. I've posted a link below..

Tenuousness, Andrew Bird

Tenuous at best was all he had to say
When pressed about the rest of it, the world that is
From proto-Sanskrit Minoans to Porto-centric Lisboans
Greek Cypriots and and harbour sorts who hang around in
ports a lot

Here's where things start getting weird
While chinless men will scratch their beards
And to their minds a sharpened axe
Is brushed upon the Uralic syntaxes

Love of hate acts as an axis
Love of hate acts as an axis
First it wanes and then it waxes
So procreate and pay your taxes

Tenuousness less seven comes to three
Them, you, us plus eleven
Thank the heavens for their elasticity
And as for those who live and die for astronomy

When Coprophagia was writ
Know when to stand know when to sit
Can't stand to stand can't stand to sit
and who would want to know this?
Click, click, click

Who wants to look upon this?
Who wants to look upon this pray tell?
Who wants to look upon this?
Who wants to look upon this pray tell, pray tell?

Tenuousness, less seven comes to three
Them, you, us plus eleven comes just shy of infinity
And as for those who live and die for numerology

I have found...

I have found a peace that ploughs on through the storm.
I have found a joy that jumps over sadness.
I have found a love that lights up every room.
I have found, I have found You

You are all I want, You are all I need,
Everything my heart could hope for.
We are longing for, the Glory of the Lord,
Cause we know there's so much more

I have found a trust that teaches how to rest.
I have found a grace that guides me by the hand.
I have found a strength that stands like a mountain.
And I have found, I have found You

rainy day

It rained today, which annoyed me because it's supposed to be spring, and the winter was long. My friend dragged me out into it, up a mountain with her noble beast, Phoebe. Then it rained too hard so we sat inside her little blue car and listened to the music that we love. Rainy days aren't so bad, I actually adore the rain, I'm just hanging out for the songs of summer to sing. To me rainy days are the epitome of reflection and peace, a perfect time to lie and wonder, to sit in silence of voice while music plays too loud. An image that I conjure up in my head is umbrellas (no kidding.) I personally love to stand in the rain under an umbrella and I can't really give you a reason why, I just love it. Well that's my ramble about the rain today. I really hope you enjoy the next rainy day that comes your way 'cause, baby, God sent it to ya for some reason, and it is beautiful.

Hearts are burning

Curled up
In a cup
So tightly bound
My heart is hurting

Tight jeans
Small pockets
You've got me captive
Carryin' me around

My heart is hurting

When you've lost yourself
And all you know is flying past
Past lives turn into dust
Try to protect your heart
But the back door's always open
You've lost the key

My heart is breaking

Into pieces, scattered
Tiny pieces
Not one is numbered
No way to reform

Tiny mind
Shrunk by love
No one is educated
So the cycle spins on

Our hearts are burning

When you've lost yourself
And all you know is flying past
Past lives turn into dust
Try to protect your heart
But the back door's always open
You've lost the key

This is a poem I wrote recently. It's simply a reflection on something from my past. One day I'll put music to it as I intended it to be a song, but for now this is just it.
